Other News
Due to safety concerns, the Officers and Governors voted to cancel the Annual Lobster Boil scheduled for the evening of November 7. With an attendance of 80 diners plus a cooking and serving staff there is no way that we could hold this event at our Club House with any level of safety this year.

At this time, we are considering a different format for the Christmas Brunch which would incorporate social distancing and safety. Vice Commodore Greg Theriot is heading a team working on some exciting ideas and we will share them with you in the next few weeks.

Change of Watch in January.
As year end is approaching we are considering an alternative format for Change of Watch. As we are certain that many of our former Commodores and their families are unlikely
to attend an event in our  Club House, we are considering holding a much smaller event and "Livestreaming" the "Change of Watch Ceremony and annual awards.

Question of the week!  I received a question from a member: " I have recently seen a couple of dogs that were not on a leash. Do we still have a rule requiring dogs to be on leash on club property?

Answer: Yes we do require dogs on the property to be on a leash.
It was refreshing to be on my boat watching the Vanguard 15 Regatta last week. The event was well planned and executed and the support from our club members was fantastic. Five of our members offered to have visitors sleep on their boats during the regatta. The leadership of Clint Webb and his team including Club Secretary Ray Marley, newly elected 2021 Secretary Julie Bollinger, and newly elected 2021 Junior Governor Jim Milliman along with Peter Bennett and many others was exceptional. On the water, all of the problems that we deal with on land seemed to fade away.
I need to go sailing more often!
