Harbor Island Yacht Club hosts and competes in sailboat regattas throughout the year in Nashville, Tennessee and across the United States. HIYC host eleven regattas annually and three series races. Regattas are synonymous with social events before and after the race. Local participating clubs include Vanderbilt Sailing Club, Kentucky Lake Sailing Club and Percy Priest Yacht Club.

Are you interested in entering your boat in our Regattas? Would you like to learn how to race your sailboat? Would you like to crew while learning the ends and outs of sailboat racing. We have some of the best sailboat captains in the United States right here at HIYC Nashville's Premier Sailboat Racing Club.

Our regatta chair persons will be happy to assist you with entry forms, sailing instruction, race notification, crew and the all important scheduled for social activities. Many of the major regattas social events have live music, dinner and dancing.

THE IROS CRUISING FLEET TROPHY is awarded to the Cruising Fleet member who has accumulated the most points throughout the racing year.

The trophy features one of the original winches from Ross and Irene Bryan's beloved IROS, donated by Ron Thweatt, with the base designed and handcrafted by Kent Martin.
